The thousand year old town of Meersburg is situated on the shores of Lake Constance, with magnificent views of the French and Swiss alps. The town is populated with charming medieval and timber buildings which harken back to a very traditional view of Germany. Its cobbled lanes also lead to a number of cafes and restaurants, which are perfect places to relax and take in the breathtaking surroundings. The region is most famous for the many castles which are perched on the hills surrounding Meersburg, giving the town a fairytale quality.
Staying with a German host means that you continue learning even when you step outside the classroom. It is also a great opportunity to experience the local cultural and understand a bit more about German family life. The host families are carefully selected and most are located within walking distance of the school. You can also choose to cycle to school as bike rental is free. Students are accommodated on a half board basis in single, and sometimes twin, rooms. Breakfast and evening meals are enjoyed with the family. Chatting around the dinner table provides plenty of opportunity to practice your spoken German. There are plenty of shops and cafes right beside the school for the students to grab lunch.
