History
LLI began operating in 1989 when three secondary school teachers decided to accept a small group of 8 students for a four week English Language Programme. The teachers were Padraic Gilligan, Andrew Basquille and Eugene Murphy. From that tentative first step the business began to take off and the company has now developed to become one of the leading English language schools in Ireland.

- 1993 LLI receives recognition from Advisory Council of English Language schools Department of Education
- 1995 LLI opens its first office in Rathgar Dublin 6
- 1996 LLI acquires 1 Clarinda Park Dun Laoghaire and begins to operate as a year round school
- 1998 LLI runs a Summer Programme in Rutgers University New Jersey for 400 students.
- 1998 Padraic moves to Delaney Marketing a sister company of LLI specialising in tourism.
- 1999 LLI sets up a residential Summer Centre in St Patricks College Carlow.
- 1999 LLI becomes a member of the prestigious International Association of Language
Centres (IALC) of which there are a maximum of 3 in each country.
- 2001 LLI acquires ISO- 9001:2000
- 2003 LLI operates language programmes in Clarinda College, Holy Child Sallynoggin, St Patricks College Carlow, Wesley College Dublin and The National College of Ireland
