Standard Spanish Benalmadena

Immerse in Spanish language and culture in Benaladena on the Costa Del Sol. There is no better way to improve your confidence in communicating in French then with this diverse combination of a formal class setting followed by a a programme of supervised leisure activities visits and excursions aimed to introduce students to Spanish culture, sports  and lifestyles. The school is located in a safe residential area of Benalmadena, only 10 minutes walking distance from the beaches.

The lessons concentrate on oral and listening skills. The friendly and enthusiastic teachers help  you build confidence in speaking and communicating in Spanish. Students do a placement test on the first day to ensure they are in the right level and receive a course completion certificate at the end of the course.

Benalmadena is an attractive, medium-sized town on the Costa del Sol located on a hill at the foot of the Mijas mountain range, only 18km from Malaga City and 12 km from Malaga International Airport.

Originally a sleepy Andalusian fishing village with beautiful white washed houses, Benalmadena has developed into a lively and animated town which retains its old charm and character. The town is small enough to provide a peaceful and secure environment, while  large enough to offer good shops hotels and restaurants, a large park a modern sports centre a library, shopping centres, cinemas and an art gallery etc.

The School

The school is situated on the top floor of a modern building with 17 large bright classrooms, equipped with audio-visual facilities and air conditioning There is also a library with a wide range of reading material available, a multimedia room with free internet access, a 25-seat multi-purpose room used for conferences or cinema a large sunshade terrace with a small cafeteria, common rooms, teachers’ room, etc.

Accommodation: 

Accommodation is provided with local warm and supportive host-families. Staying with a host family is one of the best ways to improve your Spanish and get to know and experience the local culture. The school’s host families are carefully screened and visited regularly by the school’s accommodation officer. The families are very welcoming and willing to help you speak Spanish and make you feel at home. Accommodation is half board during the week and full board at the weekend.

Activities: 

Activity programmes are designed to ensure that students obtain the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their time spent outside the classroom.

The weekly programme includes:

  • 4 afternoons of sports and social activities (at the municipal Sport Centre or on the beach): volleyball, basketball, swimming, badminton, table tennis, etc. Flamenco dancing or salsa lessons, visit to Aqualand, the Zoo, cable car ride or a mini-cruise  along the Mediterranean coast.
  • One half day visit/week to a place of cultural interest: Malaga, Marbella, Mijas or Nerja.
  • One full day excursion, on Saturdays: Ronda, Granada, Seveille or Cordoba.
  • 3 evening activities; movie nights, Tivoli World Amusement park, disco parties, sports tournaments, games and others.
