Students begin lessons in the teachers home and the first part of the morning is dedicated to grammar and writing skills. Classes are motivating and fun as students learn more about grammar, words and phrases and how to use them They quickly improve Speaking, Listening, Accuracy, Fluency and Pronunciation. Small numbers means more individual attention and an opportunity to focus on each student’s needs and abilities.
In this session the emphasis is on developing oral and aural skills and involves the use of role play, drama. Students become more confident in conversations and discussions and the emphasis is on fun, creativity and self expression.
Students take part in a variety of activities and afternoon excursions to areas of local interest. English learned in the classroom is carried on throughout the day as students put into practice with the teacher what they have learned that morning.
Dinner with host family followed by free time with the host family where the student continues to practice English.
During the summer months where possible Four Plus One students can take part in fun activities such as Karoke, Disco, Table Quiz and International Night at one of our summer centres two evenings per week.
Full Day Excursion to places of outstanding natural beauty or interest. Students are accompanied at all times by their teacher as they discover Ireland’s unique landscape and culture.
After a busy week packed full of activities students can relax and enjoy some free time and get ready for the week ahead!
All Students are required to do project work and complete an oral presentation in English of their work at the end of their stay. Prizes for speaking English are given at the end of the programme and this helps students to remain motivated and encourages the students in a fun and supportive environment.
